Unicornia....ah... land of cheesecake and Winchesters.... In my head it all started kind of like this. (basically by the awesome
kroki_refur concept that the Winchesters and pie? Not compatible.) And then it evolved kind of like this. And then one day, the most awesome zombie ever (yes,
buffyaddict13 . You all know what I'm talking about. :) ) did this. Namely Unicornia! Land of Cheesecake and Naked Winchesters, but BEWARE. No pie is allowed. Yes. It has a flag and everything, it even has an anthem. And rainbows! And cheesecake! AND NAKED WINCHESTERS! AND PARADES! *confetti* AND NAKED WINCHESTERS! (What? If an argument is that good, I might as well exhaust it!)
You're all very much invited to join Unicornia (or even do the tourist thingy.) *glee*

Uhm. Now to the writing meme, because
1. Do you outline?
Vaguely. I'm a one shot girl so usually the story is not that long and is all in my head and scenes just add up. Mentally, yes, I do outline, and once it's in the head I might jot it down (if I don't have time to write the fic on the spot). I dream of the day when I'll be outlining for good and I'll finish those arcs of mine. (which I don't see happening, but never mind.)
2. Do you write straight through, or do you sometimes tackle the scenes out of order?
Straight through. Fics are sometimes like fossils in my head (to quote St. King again) and when I unearth them it's all there already.
3. Do you prefer writing with a pen or using a computer?
Plot bunnies I jot down on paper, but computer is my love. I do the touch type thingy, which means I type really, really, really fast, way faster than writing with a pen.
4. Do you prefer writing in first person or third?
Third person, mostly, but I really enjoy the second person too on occasion.
5. Do you listen to music while you write?
Not always. Only if I remember.
6. How do you come up with the perfect names for your characters?
Esp with female characters, I find the most simple name that I can, because dwelling on the name for too long would have me thinking I'm doing a Mary Sue. Which...nope.
7. When you're writing, do you ever imagine your story as a television show or movie?
I don't know what that means. I write what I write. Because that's how I write. Even in original fics I've written, I may have the story visually in my head, but my vision is based a lot on words. It's a visual/words combo really.
8. Have you ever had a character insist on doing something you really didn't want him/her to do?
Yes. I could have throttled that bastard.
9. Do you know how a story is going to end when you start it?
Yes. Mostly. I think.
10. Where do you write?
On my pc and in my head.
11. What do you do when you get writer's block?
I just drop everything and don't force myself. Eventually something in me will need to write again. Or I start a different fic which I know will roll smoothly.
12. What size increments do you write in (either in terms of wordcount, or as a percentage of the fic as a whole)?
I don't know. Since my stories vary from 2 pages to 10 and rarely to 20 or more, I think I write in one go. 5 pages might be a good average.
13. How many different drafts did you write for your last project?
One.
14. Have you ever changed a character's name midway through a draft?
Not that I remember. I'm not sure though.
15. Do you let anyone read your story while you're working on it, or do you wait until you've completed a draft before letting someone else see it?
I complete the draft and send it to
e313. She's the only person to have read all of my stuff years and years back and we share similar background on taste and reading, so if she says the story's good, the story's good. If she's going Hmmm I know something is off. But I almost always send complete drafts because a lot of my stuff have a surprise twist and I need her to have a holistic view.
16. What do you do to celebrate when you finish a draft?
Uh...when I finish a story I submit it. That's about it, really. Oh, and cross the plot bunny off my notebook. Sense of achievement AND revenge. ("Burn, plot bunny, burn!")
17. One project at a time, or multiple projects at once?
orgasms should be like my projects Multiple.
18. Do your stories grow or shrink in revision?
Depends.
19. Do you have any writing or critique partners?
I write alone. I used to write with
e313 on occasion, but now she's mostly critique.
20. Do you prefer drafting or revising?
I guess I'd have to go with polishing little details thing. A turn of phrase here, a change of expression there. Bringing forth underlying themes or cyclical patterns that may have arisen. That sort of thing.
Consider yourself tagged if you wish so. :)
