Five questions meme via
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Rules:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better! If I already know you well, expect the questions may be a little more intimate.
3. Please update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Please include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, ask them five questions.
1: You clearly have a thing for John Winchester (which I totally respect and understand, as you know). What is it about him that draws you in, and is it something you've also latched onto in other fictional characters you've loved?
Physically, I got a voice fetish, so the way he speaks (which is part of the actor too) is a total yes for me (same reason I love Spike/James Marsters.) Characterwise I'm a sucker for tough deep characters (among others), esp on a quest. The unreachable and unfathomable ones (and that's why I got such a crush on Roland of Gilead). John's got a quick mind, is noble to what he believes in, and can make anyone obey (except Sam) without even raising his voice simply because he carries this "I won't take crap from you" strenght that is just...gah. On many levels. So. Silent strength, martyr cum God syndrom. Yeah. I could go on and on. The only other character that I can parallel with (Roland aside) is Michael Samuelle from La Femme Nikita, though his reasons were not exactly noble. But he had the same uncanny martial and survival abilities as John and that contained smouldering anger/toughness all into one. Oh and yeah. He was ultra hot too. (and now I'm shutting up.) No wait, I'm not shutting up yet, just one more tiny reason (bear with me, I'm over talkative today): He is an extreme character that manages to live on fringes, and yet in the gray zones instead of black and white. Like Spike and Mal and Angel. Now I'm shutting up.
2. Ego boost question: What's your favorite thing about your appearance. Everybody has to have one. (Me, I think I have lovely wrists and collarbones.)
Hmm. When I was still in shape (regular gym girl, around 10 kg lighter) I'd have to say my legs. Long, shapely, no cellulite. And boy, do I miss those days. But if you're talking about something that is a constant, I'd have to say my hair. It's dense and it never has split ends, and is naturally wavy, and depending on the shampoo it either curls more or straightens on its own. I don't have to blow dry or anything. Hell, I don't even comb and it still looks taken care of (except that time of the month. Then everything sucks. :) )
3. Your LJ is called "This is the journal of an Ex Kick-Ass Elementary Schoolgirl." What/whose ass are you kicking these days?
(Just for the record, the title was created by
dodger_winslow in another meme type of thingy I had answered. I liked it so much that I used it.)
And these days...hmmm...sadly, I think the ass I'm kicking these days is probably my own. Life is not exactly going as I had in mind. So.
4. How far from/close to where you grew up do you live now?
Oh hon, I didn't grow up in one place, so that's a tough one to answer. I lived in five different towns (and two countries) by the time I was around twelve. Only then did we settle down in the town where I'm currently living (and returned to after my studies).
5. Describe your writing process.
Usually a scene pops into my head. Or a snippet of dialogue. Or a song or poem line. Or an image. A concept. A what if. It's just a kernel and I jot it down in my plot bunny notebook with its own list number (plot bunny 14, etc). Sometimes what I have to weave around it comes really quickly. I just down on the same space the whole general outline. Sometimes it doesn't, and then I go through ideas, and sometimes the two ideas fit together and the plot shows up again. And I start writing. From beginning to end. I can't write one scene that will be in the fifth page and then the intro, I have to build it as it goes. Then I send the fic to
e313 who tells me if she likes it or not, then I'll leave it on my hard drive. For weeks. Then I'll look at it again through fresh eyes, and correct or improve stuff.
That's how it usually goes. Sometimes (as in the case of my Hitchhikers crackfic) I simply started writing and didn't stop. If you see the plot you'll see there are no loose ends even if it's complicated, but I didn't make one single note, I wrote it in one afternoon. It was writing itself out in my head at the same time. And othertimes
e313 is feeling low and I say Hon, what do you want to read? I'll write it for you and she says I want the first hunt after Sam left (or sth of the sort) and that becomes the premise that is jotted down as a plot bunny idea.
(and I always research when required. I try not to go against canon and not to use false info.)
Oh god, I'd better shut up now.
Also, people? Am offering to interview you, if you like this meme. :)

Date: 2007-03-08 12:51 am (UTC)Man, I'm envious of your hair. Mine is just flat and dead unless I do all kinds of stuff to it, which I almost never have the energy/talent/inclination to do.
I have to say, your numbered plot bunny notebook makes my heart go pitterpat. My bunnies notebook isn't that organized, but most of my OCD gets filtered into other parts of my process :0)
Excellent answers! Want to interview me?

Yeah, fixing hair up is bloody boring if you ask me. Never had the flair for it either.

And yei! Plot bunny notebooks! Couldn't live without it. Eh...what's OCD? *hides*
Excellent answers! Thank you. :)
Want to interview me? Yep! Here they go:
1. If you had one thing that you could do with any of the Winchesters (and we're not talking about making out or sex or anything of this sort-I know, I know, I'm not fun at all) what would it be and who with?
2. Have you got a tattoo? What does it depict? If you don't have a tattoo, tell me what design you'd pick if you just had to have one (cuz, like, John told you to. Or you lost a bet to Dean. Or Sam said he thought tattoos were hot. Any reason really :))
3. What's your favourite poem? (or one of them, if you can't choose.) Why do you like it so much, and can you somehow connect it to any part of your life or any 'verse you're really into?
4. As children, we all had dreams about what we would do when we grew up (I wanted to marry Luke Skywalker and live with the Ewokes *facepalm*) What's yours? (if you like to share it. If not, I'll give you a different question.)
5. Cliche probably, but am curious. When you're having a really bad day, a totally blue, melancholic, to-be-or-not-to-be day, what do you do?

Date: 2007-03-08 08:33 pm (UTC)Oh, believe me. I have a deep, deep appreciation for the man, for all of the reasons you list above. I just like hearing you say them because it's so pretty when you do, and I can rarely get the words out in the right order.
All righty, then. I have answered your questions :-) You can find my very long-winded replies here:
